SBTi approved targets

Sustainability only matters if it’s measurable, accountable, and aligned with science. That’s why we’re proud to share that Modepack’s near-term science-based targets for Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions have been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aligning our climate action with the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement.

This approval is more than a formal recognition. It confirms that our ambitions are grounded in science, accountability, and measurable action exactly where sustainability needs to be today.

What We’ve Committed To In Clear Terms

Our approved target is precise and publicly verifiable:

Modepack commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030, using 2024 as the base year, and to measure and reduce its Scope 3 emissions.

This target was validated through a streamlined route designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises, ensuring that our commitments are both ambitious and realistic for our scale and sector.

In practical terms, this means significantly reducing emissions generated directly by our operations (Scope 1) and by purchased energy (Scope 2), while also beginning the structured work needed to address Scope 3 emissions across our value chain.

Why SBTi and Why Now?

We chose SBTi because it is the most recognized and credible global framework for setting climate targets. Its methodology is science-based, transparent, and widely accepted across industries and markets.

For Modepack, this matters on several levels. Approved SBTi targets are increasingly a baseline requirement for working with leading global companies and entering more complex supply chains. Beyond access, they provide independent proof that sustainability at Modepack is not aspirational language but an operational reality.

Just as importantly, this decision reflects our belief that climate action cannot be postponed. We don’t see sustainability as something to be addressed “eventually.” We see it as a responsibility to act now, with clarity and intent.

From Numbers to Real Impact

In 2024, Modepack’s total greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 7,114.51 t CO₂e. While the majority comes from Scope 3 emissions, common for manufacturers, our approved target focuses on what we can directly control and change today.

Reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% means transforming how energy is used in our factory, how processes are optimized, and how efficiency is embedded into everyday operations. It’s a commitment that will be achieved through a mix of renewable energy sourcing, improved energy efficiency, low-emission technologies, and smarter production processes.

At the same time, our next major step is already underway: a Scope 3 screening process, carried out in partnership with Climate Partner, to identify where the greatest reduction potential lies across our value chain.

One Direction, Multiple Signals

This SBTi approval builds on the momentum created by our recent EcoVadis Silver Medal, which placed Modepack among the top 15% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Together, these milestones serve the same purpose: providing credible, third-party validation that our sustainability strategy is structured, measurable, and aligned with global expectations. One focuses on how we manage sustainability across our business. The other defines how we reduce our climate impact, both essential for long-term, responsible growth.

Looking Ahead with Intention

As a manufacturer of packaging solutions, we are fully aware of the impact our industry has on the planet. We are equally aware of our responsibility and our ability to shape it differently.

Approving science-based targets is not the end of the journey. It’s a clear starting point for disciplined action, continuous improvement, and transparency. Step by step, decision by decision, we are building a production system that reflects what we stand for: bold packaging solutions that are good for people and the planet.

This is how we move from commitment to action and from intention to impact.
